Getting old is..............

As the holidays approach it starts to show, my Wife has always been the one to set prepare and invite Family members to holiday meals, generally about 10-15 attended, My extended Family is all many miles and states away, in a discussion yesterday she asked where we should go for Thanksgiving, Golden C, Dennys, or any of the others offering a Thanksgiving meal, even mentioned the Masonic Hall... Damnd I hate this situation. Saddens me that that having her do all of that and now as she gets much older, no more!

Ok, off the stump, usually I love, respect and enjoy the ageing thing.

I’m a youngster to you sir, but I can only hope I handle this later part of my life as you seem to have-
I hope y’all have a wonderful holiday in whatever form it takes-

You know you’re getting old when you take your heating pad on vacation

Kids and grandkids live several hours away. Because one of the grandkids is expecting close to Christmas, all of them are coming for Thanksgiving this year and staying 4 days. Will be wonderful having them. Grandkids are mostly grown, some married and they are wanting to try new recipes for cooking which I am good with. They may not realize it, but they are going to do the clean up also. Wife and I are both 79/80, and we love having them anytime. We don't fret about it too much, just enjoy.

Once you go to a restaurant for Thanksgiving, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Great food and no arguing over who has to do the dishes.

I know, Cal, however, I wish I could see some of her relations cooking the meals and serving her, just once smile

And when you cut the pizza with scissors.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Hearing Aids come next followed by a Cochlear implant and possibly a pacemaker.

I got to where I hated family gatherings because I could not participate in conversation due to my hearing impairment. I got a cochlear implant and can now hear a clock tic. They had better watch what they say about me now or risk being cut,out of my will.
