Going on a float trip Thanksgiving week but have never been to the upper part From Pruitt Landing to Carver. Can anyone help out with some fishing tips for that area?

I did Pruitt to Carver earlier this year. Watermelon tubes thrown in the fastest current you can find will wear them out. Roostertails work real well also, but the tube was my best producer. Cast upstream and just let it run down with the current. Stay at the established campgrounds along the river and watch the weather. The Buffalo rises a lot and quickly after a rain

Slider worm. It will catch them year round. I was there in May and caught a bunch (not a lot of size, but I was with my wife on an overnight and fishing wasn’t the priority).
I’ve never been in the fall/winter, but slider worms will catch them anytime.

Have fished every stretch of the Buffalo over many years. Jig head with a curly tailed grub. Other lures will catch fish but if they aren’t hitting this they just aren’t biting. Caught tons with this lure on every stretch. Any color......as long as it’s chartreuse! 3/16-1/4 oz jig heads with a 3”-4” grub. As mentioned above^^^^stop and really work the faster water.

Any particular color on the slider worm?
This is slider worm I threw there, but I also like throwing a bright red or red with flecks Zoom finesse worm, I just didn’t have any with me. I only fished the deeper pools with them, but got bit, even with quite a bit of other paddlers around us. Buy something with chartreuse in it, like the one pictured, something red, and something natural, like green pumpkin. Charlie Brewer said he developed his rig based on filleting and examining stomach contents of hundreds of bass, and he most often saw worms roughly four inches long, so that’s how long his worms are. The Zoom worms are a little longer but I still catch a lot of fish on the red ones. https://sliderfishing.com/Worms_c10.htmRed bug shad is the closest Zoom finesse worm I’m seeing on their website, but I can’t find the bright red version I usually fish and I don’t have the package anymore. I use his jig heads too, but I’ve also used a worm hook and small bullet weight. I use six pound mono on a light, five foot spinning rod. I catch a lot of my fish on this rig and I don’t always fish it the way Charlie did. Usually I’m reeling it just above the bottom as slowly as I can or throwing it over lay downs and letting it fall on it’s own over a branch.
