I fished the dam horizontal with minnows and jigs. I did this twice at different depths. I never caught anything.

I tried some other places..no luck

I even tried cat fishing, never got a bite.

I am just going to wait until it gets really cold and go to the marina and fish in the spring.

no more boat fishing

Man, you get discouraged quick. It takes time to learn lakes and spots given the time of year. They don’t all just jump in the boat every time and it takes time to get on a pattern. Try going with low expectations and just try to learn. I have been fishing some lakes for years and years and still don’t have them figured out certain times of years.

I haven't caught a crappie in my last 3 trips.I give up. I will wait until I can hit the marina. I used to tear them up in the winter at dalrock marina at ray hubbard. But it is gone now. But Harbor Bay is still there. I will go there when it gets cold.

Did you go to the same lake on those trips? I have been skunked too many times to remember. Each trip I would learn more and more and soon I was catching enough to take some home. It takes time especially this time of year when they are moving and starting to set up in their winter spots. If fishing the barges is where you want to go, by all means.

I saw someone in one boat pull up a nice stringer of fish.
Also saw another boat catch a white bass about where I caught mine.
Otherwise did not see much action.
Need to keep trying different things to catch the fish I am seeing deeper on the finder.
