Wasn’t bad out there today. We managed to catch 30 or so. That 1st tamp is steep and jacked me all up.

I caught a 7lber in 2015 and that's the last good fish I've caught out of Squaw. I can personally attest to seeing multiple quality fish floating on multiple occasions after tournament weigh in's. In my mind tournament fishing has taken a huge toll on the fish quality in Squaw.

It was an exciting bite early. Cloud cover until 10:30am. Best bait by far was topwater YM. We prolly boated around 70 or so between 3 of us. Of course I won the pot with the biggest weighing 4.23lbs. Today is a new day with light winds and high skies, but we’ve got a plan. BTW.....RedRanger left the cabin around 11pm with a bottle of whiskey and hasn’t been seen since. Any of you locals see him, call police. Had a red tank top, pink pants, and flip flops on.

We tried lijke hell but couldn’t break 5 lbs... biggest was a 4.86 but we had 7 fish that were in the 4 lb range. Best 5 around 22 lbs and overall around 50 fish boated. Put it on the trailer at 1 and beat the worst of the traffic getting home. Pretty awesome day, don’t think there were even 20 boats on the lake. Unfortunately I didn’t get a Red Ranger autograph...

Well, it was a great time on Squaw for the last 3 days with great friends. As far as the fishing goes, numbers were great, size.....not so much. Below is how it turned out.....

Thurs - 70 fish, biggest 4.23lbs. Average size: 1.75-2.0 LBS
Fri - 50 fish, biggest 2.97lbs. Average size 1.75-2.0 LBS
Sat - 60 fish, biggest 3.53lbs. Average size 1.75-2.0 LBS

The days of 30lb strings are long gone.....I'll be very surprised if there's another 20lb+ bag that comes outta there.

I disagree Okie.. we had 20 lbs by 10am Thursday. Every single fish that was in the 4 lb range came on the same bait in areas we had already caught some of those 2 lb cookie cutters throwing the usual stuff. I can’t be the only person out there to figure it out... when the real money is on the line I feel sure the bigger bags will magically show up. 30 may not be there but I’m certain 20 - 23 lbs is.
