What's everyone using for an A-Rig? I wouldn't mind it serving a couple different purposes like C-Rig, Jig etc.

Dobyn’s 795c sb here. The 804c is a good choice too. Their Fury is a great rod for the money unless you just want an extreme amount of feel for another application, then go to a more expensive grade in the same rod. The Fury is still pretty sensitive for the price though.

Dedicated Arig rods tend to be longer and with more moderate action than your standard jig rod
I throw 5 arm Arigs with 1/8oz to 1/4oz heads and the following rods are versatile for many applications

IRod Genesis 2 Jr Swim is great (especially if you like to use braid as mainline) I use it for Arigs, 10XDs, Crig braid mainline, small and medium sized treble hooked swimbaits


Okuma Guide Select Heavy is great for Arigs, jigs, Crig fluoro mainline, small and medium sized single hook swimbaits

Shimano A rig rod. Fantastic A rig rod, I have two of them and use a Lews Super Duty reel on both.

If you watch tactical bassin video on it, youll get some good pointers. There are two totally different ways to approach it and of course many rods in between those two.

Allen uses a heavy stiff rod, braid etc. cranks them to the boat fast and furious.
Tim uses a moderate action rod and treats it like a crank bait as far as landing them, uses floro etc.

YES to Dobyns Champion 795 SB...it has been an excellent A Rig rod for me.

Dobyns Fury 795 SB is great for A Rigs. If you want a multi-purpose rod, I'd go with the Dobyns Champion 804c

All great choices. For lighter A-Rigs I use the Champion 806CB 10XD rod.

Agreed a high end (sensitive) rod is not totally necessary.......but nice! Dobyns Fury 795SB is a great A rig rod and great for medium to large swim baits, large glide baits... I also like my Champion 805(large crank baits) for medium sized A rigs. Bigger A rigs? The 806 works great but for $129 the Fury 795 would get my vote and handles them all.
