Well my son and I finally went and ate a couple last night. First off, it was much bigger than I thought it would be. I was thinking I would need two to fill me up, but one was definitely enough. Second, you can pick your side dish versus just getting fries. Too me Popeye’s makes the best mash potatoes. Dare I say even better than KFC’s. Their gravy has those small chunkies in it and is just so yummy! So that is what I got as my side. Now the sandwich...I thought it was dam good! I will definitely go and get some more in the future. The bun was soft and yummy. I got the spicy one and it had just enough hotness to remind you it is a Cajun sandwich. It left my mouth burning just a bit, but it wasn’t hot enough to were that’s all you could taste. It had a nice sauce and pickles on it that really added to the flavor and made it less dry. Now the chicken was wonderful. It was a nice big breast that wasn’t processed meat shaped into a patty. It was cooked right and nice and juicy. The crust/batter they put on it is what makes it so special. It was very crunchy but light. Hard to describe in words but it’s not a heavy hard crunch like you would find on say Church’s Chicken. It was more of a beer batter type fluffy crunch. So all and all I would say yes, it is a dam good sandwich! I would give it a 5 out of 5 because after all it is just a chicken sandwich, but the best one I have had in awhile. My son can be a very picky eater at times, but he agreed that he would definitely go and eat some more...especially when dad is buying!

One side note: The place was busy. There was a steady line at the counter the whole time we were there. In addition the drive through had a line that went around the building and out into the street. It too was like that the whole time we were there. And this was at 8:00 pm! I thought kinda late for dinner. But I’m old so that is an opinion. And while we were there everyone was friendly with everyone else. We saw no fighting, stabbings nor shootings.

Thanks, now I want one......I have been eating super healthy and I fear that on my way home from the gym I will break down and get one. Nothing like fried chicken to recover from training.

This is no exaggeration when I tell you, the first week they were selling these sandwiches, the drive thru line at the Popeye’s at Mockingbird and Lemmon was wrapped around the building and extended out onto Lemmon

And this was 11:00 on a Sunday morning

With the following caveat: Never, ever, ever, no matter how much you like jambalaya, order the jambalaya from Popeyes after 4pm

they are my favorite cheeekin sammich.
the paris location does an outstanding job, always cooked to order so nice and fresh not just out from under the heat lamps.

also good for the drive back to the ranch, not a lot of junk falling off in my lap and easy to one hand while driving.

I give it a 5 of 5 messy steering wheels.
