I'm not sure about the technical definition of a kayak vs pirogue... however, tournaments allow Hobie Pro Anglers and one has to stretch to call it a Kayak (I call my PA a yak for lack of a better term, but it's more of a boat in my opinion).

Aside from the technicalities of what makes a "kayak", many tournaments are limited to human power. Electric motors are being allowed more and more, but to the best of my knowledge, human power is still the norm.

Just wondering as there are some tournaments here at Fork that I might be interested in fishing.

Most kayak tourneys require paddle or pedal power (human power). A few that may represent a fund raiser may allow electric.

Just updated the TM. Installed a 55# Power Drive with remote control. No more foot pedal.
This should be awesome to operate. Thinking about adding Spot Lock. cool
