I have owned my 2013 Nitro Z7 Mercury 150 ProXS since new and haven't made any setup changes over the years. I have always been happy with the hole shot but disappointed with the bow lift. It lifts a small amount and I'm getting 5600 rpm and about 57-58 mph. I am running a 23" Tempest Plus prop but I'm considering a different prop or a jack plate to help with bow lift. I've already experimented with moving tackle around to reduce weight in the front....not much difference. I also removed the passenger console to compare performance and it helped a little. These boats should have never been rated for 150 hp in my opinion. They are almost 19' and heavy. What do you recommend to help with my bow lift and overall best performance with this engine? Thanks!

Check with Steve @ www.hydrodynamics-usa.com he's about as good as it gets at setting up boats.

Yep, have cup added to the prop; but also check the hull to make sure it doesn’t have a slight hook (bowed, not flat & straight) in it. I’ve read several threads where z7’s had some slight hooks in the last couple feet of the hull.

I had a 598 which preceded the Z7, I added a 6” Hydrodynamic Rapid Jack Magnum and went with a 21p Solas HR4 Titan prop and it was instant out of the hole and 58-59 top end, running heavy with 2 people. That being said. The solas prop ran very well, but the metal is soft. The Rapid jack magnum is the best manual plate out there and Steve is a fantastic guy to deal with. He knows his stuff!

that boat is just bow heavy... once you install a jack plate and set the height correctly, it'll start lifting and running
the way it should.

I took mine to Steve and had him install it himself! Money VERY well spent! Steve is top notch!
