Do we have any in here?

I want to hang my own lights this year. Around the eves along the permiter is the easy part. But how do you make the transition to other parts of the roof line without have a lit gap or a wad of lights where you don't want them?

Break the bulbs with a hammer.
My lights never turn out how I pictured them

Get on the roof and measure how many feet of lights you need to light the area you want. Go by light sets that get as close as possible with a little bit over what you need. You can unscrew the extras or cover them with duct tape.

I am going to do a lot of lights this year. I have not done any in a while.

I am excited about it.

I cut the wires on the lights and wire in new 2-prong plugs so there isn’t a gap or extra lights.

You can but I’ll just be honest, you won’t be able to. Altering LED’s will require some knowledge of electronics and it’s just too much of a pain in the [censored]. Plus LED’s look queer. I use the old school, incandescent, white C9’s. If you need to shorten the strand, cut, install new plug go on.

led's are simple. you can splice the lead wire, add male and female plugs or even sockets. put it on a timer and walk away.
