Hi guys was cleaning up some old cloud files and ran across the TTF. Y'all us a warm welcomed to me and my 2 young boy's. Sept 2006. Moved to the Metroplex for work. Well i think the boy's and I Met up at Grandberry Lake for the Jan1 2007 FFF fish in.
Think old user name was Method Man I saw some nice Amur's (grass Carp). Any way While I was living in Texas Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Sold Wingfoot Lake to the State of Ohio. Private lake Goodyear employees only. Very well Stock with trash fish, Bass Walleye, and Crappie. It was told to me that it would get very weedy in the summer. So the decided to stock it with some real Game Fish. Grass Carp and commons. It is sad to say that once the word was out that 75lber were in there BOW TOURNAMENTS Monthly and several guys shooting ever weekend.4 years of that well I won't go there. We need to make our voices heard! Tell DNR Limits on kills. and closed season durring spawn. I know there just trash fish. But we Need to teach the next generation of Carp anglers not to give up IM SORRY preaching to the choir. It makes me sick to think what a super lake it was. Under 20lber was a rarity. I have been carp fishing all my life. It is more popular than any time I can remember.I met so many great anglers here if you remember me please give a shout out.I remember meeting at Cabelas and I gave the girl that was in charge of the Aquariums a bunch of carp fishing videos. Hope y'all took her out and shared the bank with her.

Nice fish man! Sucks to hear about that lake... Although I've gotta disagree with you on one thing - there's no such thing as "trash fish!"

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

welcome Back to the TFF! I target the Bluegill/Sunfish along with Rio Grande Cichlids. I do every now and then catch some nice carp. Love the Carp section of the TFF! Some great anglers still post here. I would love to see more anglers start posting in this section again. Hope to read more of your post and seeing some nice catches. cheers

Side Note: Nice fish. thumb

IGFA World Record Rio Grande Cichlid. Lake Dunlap.

Welcome back! I was on a century ago or so and forgot my credentials completely. Like you, I returned and I’m now interested in fly fishing for carp. I fly for reds and all sorts of freshwater trout and such. But never carp for some reason. I’ve caught them on crankbaits and a Zara spook once though. Tons of fun. My biggest was a mirror carp out of Fayette County that was over 17 lbs. tomorrow will be my first official carpin’ Expedition with the long pole though. Hopefully I’ll have something to report.
