OK so it was raining hard and not very warm either, but at least the winds were light. Once again our seniors ventured out to defeat Mother Nature and have an enjoyable day as well.
And catching fish they did. Not giants mind you, but an improvement in size this week with no impending drop in temps driving the slots into deeper water.

This was the last points tournament for 2019 and right at the cut line at least three members in each group could win the trophy depending on how well they did today.

The fish were caught on all manner of baits mostly in fairly shallow water.

Only the best 5 fish count.

Boater results:

1st place went to Bob Roberts of Longview with 4 bass for 6.30 LB with a 2.36 LB. lunker caught on a red rattle trap.
2nd place went to Jack White of Farmers Branch with 3 bass for 6.27 LB. with the boater lunker of 2.88 LB caught on a shakey head.
3rd place went to Tim Gold of Mineola with 3 bass for 3.62 LB with a 1.49 LB lunker caught on a gold rattle trap.
4th place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 3 bass for 2.75 LB with a 1.63 LB. lunker.
5th place went to Tom Charlebois of Winona with 3 bass for 2.52 LB. with a 1.10 LB. lunker.

Co-Angler results:

1st place went to Don Cox of Garland with 5 bass for 5.15 LB with a 1.49 LB. lunker caught on a black worm.
2nd place went to Chuck Roy of Yantis with 2 bass for 5.07 LB with the co-angler lunker of 4.31 LB. on a black and blue senko.
3rd place went to Alf Tuggle of Trophy Club with 3 bass for 3.27 LB with a 1.49 LB lunker caught on a drop shot.
4th place went to Butch Grove of Sulphur Springs with 1 bass for 2.25 LB caught on a wacky worm.
5th place went to Bob Lambert of Lake Fork with 3 bass for 2.24 LB with a .87 lunker.

A total of 32 keepers were caught and there was 6 skunks.

The Lake Fork Anglers fish 50 Thursdays throughout the year on 2 different formats. The points tournaments as described here and one that follows the MLF format where every fish you catch counts.

Members must fish at least 8 tournaments during the year to qualify to renew in the following year. Annual dues is $5 and tournaments are $15.
