Well just placed an order 2 days ago and noticed that they are now charging sales tax for TX shipments. My previous order 8/23, they did not charge sales tax or any order prior to that....I guess the comptroller for TX has caught up with them.

Just thought you all might want to know.

Just did some bidness with American Legacy Tackle and discovered the same thing... oh well. I guess if I'm blessed enough to afford high dollar rods and reels, I can afford a little to keep the government running.

I believe that law was changed some time ago and some adopted it earlier than others.

This^^

It took effect on Oct. 1st. Other websites haven't caught up yet. There are few online tackle shops that you can save on the tax. But they will be in violation and will be changing sooner than later.

Everyone is charging sales tax ebay amazon etc..

Walmart went after Amazon for unfair business practices and won is my understanding..

9-1 all states are required to collect Texas sales tax.
There are several like Missouri that says their state law doesn’t allow it but others have too.
It is just a matter of time before it is the law of the land.

I am glad they are doing it. Helps out the local little guys trying to run a legit business. Evens out the playing field some.

Only if the “little man” actually carries something worth buying, not many little man can carry the inventory that the big internet sites carry, therefore the little man still won’t benefit.
