Yepper. Israel took out an opposition commander. Numerous missiles fired into Israel in response. Things heating up fast there.

This is a political ploy by Netanyahu who is on very shaky political ground given the last two Israeli elections ended inconclusively.
He also faces indictment in three graft cases.
Bibi is hanging on by his fingernails and needed am incident to shore up his sagging political position

It was a retaliatory rocket attack that was precipitated by Netanyahu when he ordered the killing of a senior commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group in the Gaza Strip Yep, and Netanyahu's attack on that leader was in response to numerous missile launches into Israel. He was warned, should have learned when that other bad guy got smoked. Israeli military officials hinted at having Abu al-Ata on their kill list in recent weeks, leaking his name and picture to the media in what was widely seen as a tacit threat.
The targeted killing of a Palestinian leader in Gaza is a rare event.
In May, during the most serious flareup in recent years, when Palestinian terrorists fired more than 700 rockets into Israel, the IAF killed Hamed Hamdan al-Khodari, who it said was responsible for funneling money from Iran to Gaza terror groups.
