You need gloves for winter trolling? Turn the heater on.

I bought a pair of wool gloves. They did keep my hands warm. Too warm as it warmed up a little. My biggest issue with wool is they seem to attract hooks. You get one hook in em and the ravel starts. By the end of the trip they're toast.

Top...some now come with a 'pocket' specigically for Hot Hands or similar.

Simms fingerless wool gloves with the pocket for hand warmers worked great for me last year. Then I'll use the wool gloves with the fold over mitten style tops for the boat ride.

I also like the simms fingerless wool gloves if you are able to keep them dry. If you are regularly getting your hands wet though they aren't going to be of much use. On the whole, I prefer the cabelas guidewear goreTex gloves. They don't hold water, add quite a bit of warmth, and are wind proof. The reality is there is no perfect glove. It's going to depending on how you are fishing and exactly how cold it is. The colder it is, the more dexterity you have to give up to keep your hands warm. This is why I own about 10 different pairs of gloves and I just pick from the pile based on conditions.

From now through early February is no doubt my favorite time to fish, year after year. The only bad part is keeping the hands warm and dry. I've bought every glove under the sun and they're either too bulky or worthless when they get wet. What works for me is cheap, buy them by the box nitrile gloves. Wear the old fashioned wrist sweatbands and put a hand warmer in the sweat band, on the inside of your wrist. The blood going to your hands goes through the veins in your wrist. My hands never get cold now.

I only use my gloves while driving the boat. I just can't fish worth a [censored] while wearing gloves. My solution is to keep warmers in my pocket and I will bring a Mr Buddy propane heater in the boat and just warm up the hands as needed. It seem to work better for me.

Nitrile inside thin serius gloves. Good handwarmers in my pockets. The key is keeping them dry. With the nitrile, your hands will never get wet

Just a good ole fashion golf or batting gloves works great. I can still feel my line through them.
