Hey guys, I'm looking for a Flipping/pitching rod for around 100.00. My local choices are a Dobyn's Fury FR735C for 109.99, a Duckett 7'3" heavy for 99.99 and a Lews speed stick "Pitchin Rod" for 79.99. I have been using Falcon Bucoos and really like them but can't get them locally. I'm not familiar with these other brand rods, just wanted some input from folks who have used these rods, thanks for the help.

The fury is tough as nails and sensitive/light for the price.
Bottom line can’t go wrong with dobyns i’d get the fury

You have done your research. You have a GREAT selection of rods chosen. I haver] heard the Lews is a little brittle, but have never thrown it. The other 2 are great rods. Myself, when I got a Dobyns, I stopped shopping around. So my vote if for one to the top 2, but especially, the Dobyns rod. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I don’t own that particular model, but I love my Dobyns rods.

I have been using braid on some of my other rods but have wondered about straight fluoro for flipping, what would you reccomend?

I know its not on your list, but the Daiwa Tatula XT Casting Rods is worth looking at too. It's just a tad bite higher at 119.00.

Another widely available one not on your list (at just about every Academy Sports)
Blue Ethos HD XH or Heavy/Fast--usually available in 7' and 7'3"
Regular price is $79, but they often go on sale or clearance for $40.

I'm normally a G Loomis guy, especially NRX, but i digress here and recommend and use an Academy Ethos 7'6" XXheavy flipping rod. It's light and plenty sensitive for short line applications and lastly it won't break the bank.

Dobyns Fury is excellent at the price point. I like the 735 for anything up to 3/8 ounce flipping. Anything heavier than that I jump up to the 765. The 735 is a really good all around rod though.

Check out Sportsmands Outfitters. They are having a pre black friday sale and Dobyns rods are included in the sale.

I have purchased fishing equipment from them several times and always fast shipping.

I have had 8 Duckett rods and have broken each one of them. I have never broken a bucoo and for $99 they are my favorite.

Hey guys, thanks for the great info, sorry it took so long to get back, been out of pocket. I found the Dobyns Fury at Academy on Black Friday, around 88.00, very happy with that. I would like to set it up with a reel for pitching and flipping, again trying to stay around 100.00. I have a bps pro qualifier I picked up at bass pro last year, would this work ok? I also like the Lews speed spool, also I picked up some Trilene 100% flouro in 20 lb. Would this work or should I go with braid and a fluoro leader, I was just wanting some info from guys that are familiar with flipping and pitching. Thanks again for all the great info. Have a great day.
