Sand bass fishing at PK is still great and it is also really good at lake Bridgeport! We are targeting main lake humps and points in 18-30 feet of water with slabs to catch our fish right now. On cloudy days the birds have been pointing us to some fish. One thing that we have been having to do is move around a lot. With the water temps dropping, the fish are changing locations at times. If anyone would like to book a trip with me, I have plenty of openings. My number is 817-243-5858. Fall fishing is at its best right now!

Kolby, this is 1st post I've seen for you. Can you tell us more about you? How long have you been guiding? How did you learn to catch white bass/hybrids/stripers? Which lake do you have the most experience on? Did you work for other guides before starting on your own? What boat and marine equipment do you have? Dennis

Of course Dennis. I am 25 years old and have been guiding since March 1st 2018. My fist trip was on that day at Squaw Creek and we were fishing for channel catfish. I grew up in Mineral Wells and moved to Granbury in 2005. I lived there until I graduated high school in 2012 and then I moved back to Mineral wells. I spent a lot of time fishing at Possum Kingdom Lake and Squaw Creek growing up. Those are the lakes I have spent the most time on. I worked for my grandparents for a while washing windows, so when I started guiding I was guiding part time. My grandparents retired at the beginning of this year so I have switched over to guiding full time since then. I have learned to catch white bass/stripers mostly through a lot of trial and error and time on the water. My dad and grandad taught me the basics of fishing growing up but I never really learned anything more advanced from anyone. I have spent a lot of time researching online through articles and videos and by taking what I have learned to the lake, have been able to teach myself how to find and catch fish consistently. I've always done everything on my own and never have worked for any other guides. From an early age I have always thought that it would be fun to help others catch fish and make a living at it, so I decided to give it a shot and so far it has been working out. It has been a lot of work getting my business built up, but the hard work has been worth it. I always tell people that if I didn't love to do it, I wouldn't do it because it is a lot of work. I owned a few aluminum boats and a bass boat over the years but decided to sell my bass boat to purchase a center console boat to use for guiding. I still use that boat today. It is a 1997 22 foot bay quest center console with a completely rebuilt Johnson 200 hp motor. It is definitely not the most fuel efficient setup, but has worked well for me and is what I could afford starting out. Shortly after purchasing the boat I had to have the engine rebuilt but it has been great ever since. I have it rigged up with a minn kota terrova trolling motor, Shad Shack Bait tank, cannon downriggers, humminbird helix and lowrance graphs, hydrowave, and Cabelas rod holders to get the job done. That equipment pretty much covers all of the styles of fishing that I do. I really enjoy guiding and helping others make memories and I hope to do it as long as I can.

I have seen you on PK, nice clean rig and you are courteous when passing drifting boats that are fishing. Good luck to you and yours.
