As most of my Customers (and me) are more "Fair Weather Fishermen", I've only been on the Lake a couple of days each of the past few weeks. Richland Chambers can get brutal on a strong North Wind day and these recent Fronts have packed a pretty good punch! Additionally we've received some much needed rain as the Lake is down 3'. I was fortunate to fish the past two days in great weather and conducted a mid day trip with a Dad and four young Sons on Tuesday and then regulars from Lancaster fished with me in the AM yesterday. Results were the same on both trips but locations and depths were very different. On Tuesday, we fished deeper water (22'-28' FOW) in timber along the Richland Creek Channel and yesterday we sat on one spot in 15' FOW wayyyyy up the Creek, never moved and had a 100 fish limit of "Eaters"! We did chum really heavy yesterday with Grain and Range Cubes while on Tuesday we moved around quite a bit and didn't give the fish much time to find us. When you have four boys ranging from 5 years to 12 years of age, you better get them on fish fast! Adam and I are on a good Fall/Winter Pattern and the larger Blues are starting to show up. Adam and I both fished on Saturday and had a Dad/Son and Dad/Son-In-Law easy two man trips. We fished the same timber areas way up the Richland Arm we had been fishing except that I fished 10'-12' FOW and Adam fished 15' FOW. I had a 50 fish box of ALL Channel Cats and Adam's box was a mix of Blues and Channels. Both using DK's Punch Blood Bait on a # 4 Treble. [img]
What's even more puzzling is the spot I fished was the same spot I fished on Wednesday when I had a 100 fish box consisting of 80% Blues. Go figure!
