Finally getting a chance to get out and hunt for the Cats. Fished 2-6 pm Saturday with Wife.
[Linked Image]

I marked Shad then some fish in 46" fow and the weather allowed me to anchor.
We ended up with 10. 14" - 20". Good eater size.

Kept some and tossed the big one back.
All belly's were full of mussels.
Typical Canyon. Liver out-fishes all other baits 10 - 1.

Nice! Never been on Canyon. My wifes' sister and brother in law are building a new home in Blanco. Always heard Canyon was tough. I bass fish mainly and don't fish the kitties much. Maybe I should buy me some chicken liver and get after it!

I would be cautious about eating fish from Canyon Lake due to mercury https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/...ons/fish-consumption-bans-and-advisories

Fish Consumption Bans and Advisories

Fish and shellfish can accumulate contaminants from the waters in which they live. The Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) monitors fish for the presence of environmental contaminants and alerts the public through bans (closures) and advisories when a threat to human health may occur from the consumption of contaminated fish.

In waters with consumption bans, both possession and consumption of fish and/or shellfish are prohibited. A consumption advisory is a recommendation to limit consumption to specified quantities, species and sizes of fish. For additional information and maps of areas listed here, as well as a listing of areas tested where no basns or advisories were issued, visit the TDSHS Seafood and Aquatic Life group, call (800) 685-0361 (shellfish) or (512) 834-6757 (fish), or e-mail seafood.regulatory@dshs.texas.gov

Central Texas

Canyon Lake in Comal County
Chemical of Concern: Mercury •For striped bass and longnose gar, adults and children 12 and older are advised to eat no more than two 8-ounce servings per month. Children under 12 should eat no more than two 4-ounce servings per month.
•Pregnant women, women who could become pregnant and mothers who are breastfeeding are advised not to eat any striped bass or longnose gar from the lake.

Always fun catching Blues on Canyon. I like drift fishing for them in the creek channels and main lake points. Keep your head on a swivel for birds working or stripers splashing around. It should be on at canyon! Backs a creeks maybe good places for them too!

I miss your posts from down here SX22.
I see you at T-Wok and places way better than here.
The Striper's (schooling) here have been very sporadic this year so far.
With the water down and super clear, I've been fishing deeper.
The Zebra Mussel situation is also getting bad.
