 Brake disc sheared in half..

Looks like it had some corrosion helping the splitting process.

Rear tag axle on our scania, fitted new brakes both side today..good as new

That will happen if only one side of the pads are pressing on the rotor, putting all the torque on one side.

That will happen if only one side of the pads are pressing on the rotor, putting all the torque on one side. Are you saying there is probably a caliper issue still unresolved? Possibly a sticking caliper not putting pressure on one of the brake pads.

I'll keep an eye on it, the face of the disc shows no signs of excessive wear and is even on both sides. We learned this week that the tag was installed on the truck back in 2012 so possibly the brakes are original to that date and have give in to age. We buy parts from a Scania main dealer local to us

That rotor broke from corrosion. Yep..that thing is probably like a tube trailer...now that you found the first piece, more to come soon enough.
