12 boats ventured out onto a very warm day for early November. Which turned into a cold very windy afternoon with temps hovering below 45.
But while it did effect the fishing very few actually were skunked and more left with boat troubles.
Hard Core is what we call this tournament, but it follows the Major League Fishing format where every fish you catch over 10" counts. With Lake Fork partitioned into three sections and the section available to fish unknown until the morning of. This morning section 2 was chosen. In two weeks when they fish the final only section 1 and 3 will be available to fish. 50% of the field or six boaters and 6 co-anglers will advance to the finals.
Boaters Results
1st place went to Dennis Bubinas of Lake Fork with 5 bass for 4.66 LB with a 1.54 LB lunker caught on a skinny dipper.
2nd place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 3 bass for 3.61 LB with a 1.87 lunker caught on a black worm.
3rd place went to Bill Ailes of Sulphur Springs with 2 bass for 3.41 LB with a 1.87 LB lunker caught on a baby brush hog.
4th place went to Charlie Abresch of Hawkins with 3 bass for 3.39 LB with a 1.45 LB lunker.
5th place went to Terry Thompson of Sulphur Springs with 2 bass for 2.85 with the boater lunker of 1.92 LB
6th place went to Tim Gold of Mineola with 2 bass for 2.15 LB with a .84 lunker.
Co-Angler Results
1st place went to Ken Kielbas of Arlington with 2 bass for 2.47 LB with the co-angler lunker of 1.54 LB caught on a skinny dipper.
2nd place went to Tom Whitrock of Lake Fork with 2 bass for 1.53 LB with a .87 lunker caught on a baby brush hog.
3rd place went to Don Cox of Garland with 2 bass for 1.49 LB with a .76 LB lunker.
4th place went to Jackie Price of Alba with 2 bass for 1.37 LB with a .81 LB lunker.
5th place went to George Mc Cane of Dallas with 2 bass for 1.34 with a lunker of .84 LB
6th place went to Alf Tuggle of Trophy Club with 1 bass for 1.29 LB.
Despite the falling temps the guys were still able to catch 35 bass. But as you can see the big girls probably moved into deeper warmer water.
The Lake Fork Anglers fish every Thursday throughout the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas on 2 different formats. Members are required to fish at least 8 of the points tournaments to maintain membership. Dues is $5 a year and tournaments are $15. Go the
