There have been several arguments on this forum about the world's loudest bird. These spats have resulted in money being wagered, as well as several fist fights. There's even rumors of a drive-by shooting.
In order to prevent any more turmoil, I've decided to post the facts:

Sounds a lot like the tone on the tv test for the disaster alert.

No slouch in the sound-producing department.

"They are some 2 mm long...The male of this species produces its underwater courtship song by stridulating a ridge on its {male organ} across corrugations on its abdomen. The area involved measures only 50 micrometres across, or about the thickness of a human hair. A team of biologists and sound engineers from France and Scotland have recorded M. scholtzi producing sound up to 99.2 decibels, a volume comparable to a passing freight train."

I don't get the feeling you are sincere.

Y'all never heard of the Oh No bird? Small bird with one inch legs and 3 inch long male organs. When he lands on a barb wire fence he screams Oh No at 199 .7 decibels.

I use to hunt geese in the rice fields around Brookshire. More than one bird but a huge flock of geese can make your hears hurt.

They can be loud! I heard they taped flocks and used the sounds to dub into porn movies.
