I tried gafftop last year and it was barf Then again, I didn't prepare it as much as you did. Lots of people love gafftop in Galveston area.

It really was good, it surprised me. But I could see if you didn't remove the red meat, it would probably be bad.

Mine was pure white meat, but it was mushy.

Enjoyed the video. I grew up catching whiskers too. Back when I had a boat there was one standing rule and that was never bring a gaftop on board. I have heard of some ole salts putting them in tow sacks and trolling em behind the boat to remove a lot of the slime.

Yeah I've heard about dragging them in sacks or even just on a stringer.

I bet a burlap dragged behind the boat would help to remove a lot of that 'snot". Just leave that sack in the dumpster at the launch before you head home.
