I think that episode was just on this morning. Ran into some trouble with buffalo hunters on the way to go bass fishing.

Funny, I was watching that when I saw this. Backed it up and took this picture.

looks like bamboo to me. Yea this is from the episode where they Doc and Festus get abducted and they make Doc take care of their sick. In an effort to keep him from leaving they try to force him into marriage.

you may be right about the rod being bamboo however when I was a kid,my Dad had an old bamboo casting rod and fly rod and they were both hexagon shaped....

Looks like bamboo to me as well. Funny part of the scene was Doc was actually cranking that reel.

If you didn’t see this episode yesterday then that’s some serious Gun Smoke recall.

I grew up on Gunsmoke in prime time. With most of the garbage on television these days it's one of the few programs i'll watch. Good thing is they play Gunsmoke a bunch now days! I also have a saint for a wife that love's Chester and all his whining and ailments. I wish I could find the Rifleman on more regularly.

Bamboo fly rods and steel casting rods was the thing back then. Hula poppers, Lucky 13,s and Lazy Ike,s were good, too. Probably still are.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

The world came to a halt around our house when Gunsmoke was on. The only time we were allowed to speak was during commercials lol. Great picture!
