Anyone got any recommendations on anyone in DFW or maybe Houston area to get a power head on a Yamaha 225 hpdi 2 stroke rebuilt. Not really wanting to drive to Florida etc... someone posted on here before about a shop that offered a 2 or 3 year warranty. I want fuel injectors cleaned and flow checked, and a couple other issues on engine (tilt and trim cylinders) worked on at same time. Not wanting to repower with a sho or another brand. Thanks!

I had good luck with Brad at Fish and Ski in Sanger. They sent me with the power head to have it rebuilt to a guy in Ft. Worth I think it was. Then once it was rebuilt they put it all back together, and tested for about 2k less than what a purchased remanufactured power head would cost installed. That was 2017, I've probably put 100 hours on it since with no issues. Merc 150 HP XR6

East Texas Outboard Rebuild in Gun Barrel City. My nephew, my brother and I have all had great use of powerhead rebuilds with them,, they even give a 3 year warranty on their work.

Service Marine in Emory is the only shop I will let work on my HPDI anymore. I blew a powerhead gasket recently and we had to tear it down to just the block to have some broken bolts removed that they never touched. He reassembled everything and has it running better than it has in years. He identified problems where I had had other shops work on it. HPDI engines are real reliable if they are worked on correctly. Not every shop has an expert for them.

East Texas Outboard Rebuild rebuilt mine last year. I highly recommend them and they have the best warranty you are going to find on rebuilds.

100% fact. One of the trickiest motors ever. ^^^^ there’s a reason places like Cris Carson in Florida and Hydro Tec in Missouri are so popular. Those are tough motors to repair. Most haven’t 100% figured it out. Service marine is top notch. Chuck will treat you right and be honest and affordable. No question.

I use Service Marine for everything, they are the only shop I take my boat to for service, but I would call ahead before driving down for a rebuild. When my powerhead blew Perry told me they stopped using rebuilds because they were having to foot the warranty work for another companies rebuilt powerhead, they could get me a new powrehead though. I took this to mean that he didnt rebuild himself either, but I may be overstepping there. They are a fabulous shop and I hate to hear so many others recommend them because I that is just going to put them further out next time I need some work done.

We can get it taken care of if needed. We have them "figured out" and can do a 1 year warranty with an option to extend to 2.

It was a HydroTec rebuild that had about 350 hours on it since rebuilt. Just changed all the VST pump filters strainer filter, secret filter, about 20 hours ago. Not really wanting to put a New powerhead on it. If I have to I will take it back to Hydrotec in Missouri. Not really wanting to drive 8 hours one way and back then turn around and do it again a week or two later. I will give everyone recommended a call to check on pricing. Thanks everyone
