Lob cast makes sense.
i tried it during summer, had stubbys on ice packs before using but came off when hit the water.
Will try again now that the temps are lower it should be firmer and hold better.

Mixing some flour in it will thicken it (Stubby’s advice and it does work). Others have used other things to good effect, like cattails and dryer lint. After adding flour to mine, it’s hung on well for some pretty heavy lob casting.
With the bait warmed like when you’ll use it, just mix in the flour in steps and stop when you think the consistency will work. It is a trial and error exercise.
However, as it gets cooler the interest in thickening it does go away too.

It was in the 50's today and I tried doing the lob cast with stubby's.
Stayed on and got my first cat on the stubby;s.
One cat on shad today and one on stubbys.
