I decided to brave the cold on Sunday morning and headed out with low expectations since I have not been able to get out due to kids football the past few weeks. As I was heading out to the main part of the lake I saw the most bird activity I have seen in years! I basically headed for the birds and all I was catching was hybrids! It lasted approx 1.5 hrs. Gave my buddy Snagging Steve a call and got his butt out of the house and he joined me for about an hour! All hybrids were between 17-21 inches. Water temp 62 degrees. Lots of fun and lots of action! There is a great population of 17-21 inchers in CCL. 2 more years and it will be loaded with giants!

Gotta love it when a low expectations trip works out like that ... well done!

I put in at Don's several years ago. Weather forecast was for sleet and snow.

The guy at Don's asked me if I was crazy. I said yes.

Check several places but ended up finding the Hybrids schooling, just south of the island.
It started sleeting. It was freezing.

I didn't care one bit. I caught the snot out of them for over an hour.

I'd do it again.
