Looking for people's opinion on wether this stuff is good or bad for you. Here's the situation, we went to Branson with my cousin last week. His wife weighs at least 350 and she says she is on a diet. Anyway we were gone 4 days and she drank a case(24 cans) of Monster Energy drink. I made the statement to her that the stuff wasn't good for her but she said she had to have her energy drink for her diet. I told her water would be much better. She didn't agree. From the time she got up until she went to bed he had a 30oz Yeti cup full of the stuff. What do y'all think? Is it good or bad?

My advice to save time later would be for her to be looking for kidney matches now...

I have a guy at work that drinks them all day long, everyday. They don't work,,,, or if they do, I would hate to see his energy level without them.

The calories, sodium, and carbs in the monster energy drink would reach the RDA for all 3 after drinking this stuff for 8 hours easily. The caffeine RDA would be met in no less than an hour.

They make a sugar free and carb free, zero calorie version too.

One thing I have noticed is many people who point out how bad they are have no issues drinking a couple of pots of voffee per day or a 6 pack of Cokes/Dr. Pepper.... roflmao

Or will be getting ready for several kidney stones... that’s why I quit drinking them.

What you are describing is someone that needs to learn the concepts of moderation and exercise.

I worked with a guy who drank 6-8 of those every day for several years. He ended up in the ICU when his kidneys shut down. Damn near died. I understand that since quitting Monsters, his kidneys have returned to almost normal Function.

Probably right but it is all about moderation and a case of energy drinks a day is not moderation. I personally have never had one energy drink I am too high strung as it is. I get a buzz from 2 cups of decaf black coffee in the AM
grin and I don’t drink any soft drinks just water and some Powerade Zero if sweating a lot and I might have tea once per week. All that said I think you would be hard pressed to find any doctor who would say energy drinks are good for you and probably would be don’t drink very many if at all.

I have a minor addiction to the white monster. It's the the zero calorie stuff with a bunch of B vitamins and about the same caffeine content as a normal cup of coffee. . I have one a day usually. There's an endless parade of people who tell me how terrible it is and how it's going to kill me in very short order. These same people are usually getting giant iced coffees that are 450 calories each and have twice the caffeine content as my Monster.

That said, the amount she's drinking sounds downright dangerous, particularly for someone who isn't exactly a shinning beacon of health and fitness.
