Hall of Famer Earl Campbell believes he knows what the University of Texas needs to reclaim its former football glory: A talented, black quarterback. In a Tuesday interview with the Austin-American Statesman,Campbell said that Texas needs to realize they need a “talented, black quarterback,” to be a championship caliber team. “Until the University of Texas realizes you have to have a black quarterback, and nothing against Ehlinger, you got to have a talented, black quarterback,” Campbell told the Statesman. “All these schools that are winning, even in the pros, have black quarterbacks. When guys are not open, something can still happen.” Storyand to think, they fired Jimmy the Greek for saying essentially the same thing.

Brady, Brees, and Rogers aren't going to know what to do now that they are being replaced. I can't imagine Tua or Lawrence even finishing the rest of the season with no hope for their future.

College football is full of RPO offenses. Black quarterbacks excel in these systems. That doesn't mean that they will do well in the pros. Earl is talking about COLLEGE FOOTBALL. It's funny that someone mentioned Vince Young. Vince was one of the original college RPO quarterbacks. Mack Brown tried his best to keep him from using it. It wasn't until Mack gave in, that Vince did so well. Not so much in the pros, though. Vince was a very average passer.
