I don't hate $26M per year. Cowboys don't have $30M+ per year after signing Zeke and several LBs and OL unless they want to spend their last penny right now for the next few years, and let Cooper walk. They have plenty money to sign Dak, and no way in hell is he signing for 26M, wish he would.

Brady deal signed 2 months ago, two-year $70 million contract extension, raises his 2019 salary from $15 million to $23 million, $30 million in 2020 and $32 million in 2021.
You can bet Stephen is pointing to this.

Not a chance in hell he is signing for 26M. It is going to be around 33-35M a year

Sure he is, but the potential value of a 26yo starting QB is significantly greater than a 42yo QB

They have plenty money to sign Dak, and no way in hell is he signing for 26M, wish he would. Remember when we did this with Tony and all the same TFFers said the same thing - we have plenty of money - he's worth every bit of what he's asking! And then year after year we had to restructure his contract to push his money into the following years just to put a 53-man roster together. We've paid really big money to a number of players on both sides of the ball at OL, RB, LB, DL, and we've been able to do that due to the discounted QB salary. If that goes away, we'll lose a lot of roster flexibility. I like Dak, but he's not much of a QB without Cooper and Zeke. Look at his numbers last year before Cooper and the year before in total - really, really average (at best). He needs to keep that in mind. Of course it was the same for Zeke last season before Cooper showed up, but JJ made stupid decisions and paid him too when we could have treated him just like SD treated Gordon and he'd have come back just like Gordon did, and it wouldn't have cost us a single game and it would have saved us milions. But JJ is an idiot, so I expect him to pay Dak bigtime.

You can bet Stephen is pointing to this. Brady has historically taken lower per year salaries with the money loaded/deferred on back end of the deal. Once he is done playing they might he paying him salary for several years after.

I'm not sure how all that works, but I have read that Brady takes below market salary so he can have better players around him to get to the superbowl, which is a model Stephen is following and the reason a deal with Dak has not been done yet.

If he was going to sign for that, I would think it would be done by now.

I would Franchise tag him next year.. and draft another QB..... and use that year to coach and mentor a QB that can actually complete 5 yard passes on a regular basis..
Rip some Lips ya'll.

You know Dak leads the league in yards per catch this season? He is much improved this season, and he is getting better by the day. Before this season everyone said he could not make the deep throws.

You mean like Mayfield, Allen, Wentz, Marriota, Winston or Darnold? Those guys sure struggle a lot to be high draft picks. Hard to imagine a lowly 4th rounder usually outplays them and has a much better winning percentage over the last few years better than all QBs not named Brady.

Sad thing about being a star in college is you wind up in places like Cleveland or worse. I know that is the system but it sucks to to be good at times. LOL. And a lot of times the star college players just can't make the transition to the NFL. Dak is a decent qb,not one you can put the team on his shoulders and he be able to carry them. When his tackles were out he was not very good. In my opinion and I know my opinion and $10.00 will get you a cup of coffee in some places.

Drafting well is the key which they have done, pay the stars and keep drafting young talent.
