Got back last weekend from our annual Kayak fishing trip. Three buddies and me stay at Drifters in Rockport and fish RP and PA area every year in late Oct. to chase the Reds and Trout. Only thing I can say is load your Yak and get your butt down there. Reds and trout are biting.... First day we fish Wilson's Cut at PA over toward the pink house area using Down South plastics and Top waters. Lots of trout and under size reds with keepers mixed in. Enough for supper....... The next day we launched of the road toward PA from Light House Lakes. Fished the Aransas channel and around the corner in the Lydia Ann channel toward the light house. A few trout and reds boated as the wind got up made fishing a little ruff. I did hang one of the biggest Bull Reds I've seen about 2/3 the way to the LH on a Down South Magic Grass in 2 1/2 ft. of water throwing in a pocket. I fought her from 1 1/2 ft to 28 ft of water in the channel. Tug of War and Hobie Sleigh Rides for the next 25 minutes on light tackle with 15 lb. leader. What a fight she put up!!! I finally got her up to the side of the boat and like a dumb butt I had left the net in the pickup. I reach down and grabbed her (knowing better) by the lower jaws. Well you know the story: She crushed down on my hand hard and spun and ripped skin off my knuckles and when I jerked my hand out the Down South bait popped out and I slowly watched her sink and slowly swim away. I was going to release her anyway I sure wish she would have let me take a picture. She got the last laugh. Besides blooding my hand she trashe my Penn spinning reel. .....Well the next day we went to the end of Sun Ray road in Aransas Pass and fished the pot holes in Ransom and Dagger area. Slow drifting throwing Down South and other plastics. It was fish after fish after fish. Keeper Trout and Reds with little rats and trout mixed in. Between the four of us in our Kayaks someone just about always had a fish on. What I'm saying is now Oct. is the time to go down and have a blast. We do this every year and always find fish and the weather is great temperature wise. Your might cacth a cold front but but before and a few days after the fish will cooperate. You really don't need to be a experienced salt water fisherman to do this. Get out of your comfort zone and get you some. I will help if I can. Have fun!!!

Just trying to give a up date and relay info to people so they can go catch fish or try something new. Thought I gave enough info on where to go and plastics used.
