Cooking dinner and heard a loud boom that shook the house. Went out and all the neighbors are out wondering what it was. Nobody knew. Went back out a little later and firetrucks at the end of the street. Seems a plumbing truck, with a utility bed, had an acetylene bottle or something in back blow going down the road. Blew all the doors off one side of the bed.

Heard a bunch of gunshots this weekend.
But it was opening of youth deer season.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

But it was opening of youth deer season. Yep. Country boy here and loud booms are common this time of year. My wife was complaining about the gunshots this past weekend. I told her it's the opening of deer season but that didn't help. Then I told her she could move to the city if she thought she'd be safer. She's still not talking to me.
This thread needs more cowbell ...

About 9:30 last night, just as I was letting the pooch out into the back yard, there was the recognizable sound of a transformer blowing down the street and sparks were flying all over the place. That was followed by the next transformer in the line doing the same, then another, then another. Looked like a 4th of July fireworks show around here.
Electricity went off and finally came back on about 2:30 this morning. Caused me to miss the last few innings of the World Serious.
Family is everything! Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

Been a while but one night we woke up to a very loud boom that sounded like it was down the road a ways. The next morning about a mile away on the way to town we saw a motor home burned to the ground. Found out the propane tank(s) had exploded.
