What size drop for a bass boat? 5โ€ enough?

Prob depends on the year, I have a 4โ€ drop on my 2012 F350. The newer 250โ€™s look taller than my truck, I would think 5โ€ should work.

New one, I think a 5โ€ will work and will get one this week, thanks Mike!

I went with 6โ€ for my โ€˜19 F250 fx4 and 21โ€™ bay boat. Had a 4โ€ on my F150, but after towing with it, I didnโ€™t like the bow being so high, and I needed more weight on the tongue.

I looked at some f250 & 350s today at the dealership in Three Rivers, I sure do like the looks of them. But the price cry. When the new gas motor comes out, Iโ€™m going to do some serious thinking, my diesel has always gotten horrendous mpg. By looking at them Iโ€™d think 5โ€ or 6โ€ would be right.

Did you get rid of your 1/2 ton or is your wife going to drive it? What color is your f250? 6.7L or 6.2L?

Traded the F150 as it was inadequate for towing our travel trailer. White. 6.7, since itโ€™s a proven engine, although I seriously considered waiting for the new gas V8.

Measure trailer wheel height from hub to ground. Thatโ€™s where you want the you the tongue. Measure your receiver height and then figure how much drop you need. Add extra drop to compensate for ball height.

Nice! My 6.7 is on 91k and has only had 1 shop day and that was for a sensor replaced under warranty. Really good trucks.

My buddy Minner Bucket, just bought a 6.7 also. You guys are making me envious.

I got the 5" which was a little difficult to find here in San Antonio and hooked up the boat, boat seems to still be a little high, smh! Now where to find a 6"? I really don't want an adjustable hitch, just a one piece.

Ordered a 6" through E-trailer, seems 2 1/2" receivers are difficult to find.

Yep, Tractor Supply or Northern Tool. Prob smart to have ordered it instead of driving around until you found one.

I have a 4 inch lift, Level though. Imagine a stock truck with the rake it has would be the same. I use a 4" drop on my F250. Think it depends on the boat as to what is the right height.
