Last Sunday, October 27th hundreds of people gathered together in a show of support to battle cancer. The Fourth Annual Fish For A Cure was held on Lake Ray Hubbard going out of Chandlers Landing. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the American Cancer Society. A new FFAC record of 99 boats came out to fish with us. The day started chilly and clear. There was not a cloud in sight all day and it warmed up in to the mid 70's by the end of the event. Unfortunately the wind that was supposed to hold off until mid day kicked up early and of course stronger than it was forecasted. Most everyone stuck it out and many were rewarded with good sacks of fish. At the end of the day, long time Ray Hubbard veterans Walter Archer and Jeff Meier ruled the day with a winning bag of 22.16 pounds and also weighed in big bass with a 7.74 beast. Here are full results and lots and lots of pictures. As many of you as I know, and as much as I pride myself in remembering people, I just don't know everyone so pardon me if your picture is on here without a name I apologize.

TD Larry Ladnier and my RHBC crew of volunteers arrived at 4:00AM on Sunday to start our day

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

We could not make this event go without our great sponsors!

[Linked Image]

Or without volunteers from RHBC like Gary Hughes!

[Linked Image]

RHBC families were involved. Here's Kylie Macias and her friend Harrison selling tickets and shirts at weigh in

[Linked Image]

There are sponsors and then there are title sponsors. Here is Justin Wright of Prestige Ford and Rad Rides manning the release tank. They wrote the biggest check of all and we are forever grateful

We extended the check in time to 4:30 as with the number of boats we had it took a while to get everyone off the water. A nice problem! Weigh in line stayed packed for a while

[Linked Image]

We had a heck of a crowd!

[Linked Image]

Solid sack for Cameron Laing and Patrick Sharp

[Linked Image]

A Ray Hubbard chunk

[Linked Image]

Donnie Herrod and Steve McClendon weighed in three

[Linked Image]

But one of them was second place big bass weighing 6.94!

[Linked Image]

Good limit of fish

[Linked Image]

Austin Miles and Chris Sabina with four good ones

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

Garrett Macias and Bobby Finta with five

Larry Ladnier sent this to me yesterday and gave me permission to post it and it's my honor to do so

Victory Fishing Events statement:

With cancer affecting so many families and our friends in so many tragic ways, when the Ray Hubbard Bass Club asked me to be a part of their Fish For A Cure Event, I was honored and jumped at the chance to help out! Cancer has taken people that were important to me and that had positive impacts in my life. I felt compelled to offer my services and equipment to complete an admirable mission. Just to be a small part of this was a blessing to me. I felt good about being able to give back in the name of those we lost in the hopes of saving someone who is afflicted with this Terrible disease. If just one life is saved it was worth it to me!

Thank you Ray Hubbard Bass Club for taking on the challenge and allowing me to help!

God Bless those affected!

Sincerely, Larry Ladnier
