Fished in the area around mile buoy 31, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in cool, cloudy and misty conditions. Caught 7 LMB, 4 of which were over the legal length of 14 inches. Collectively, the 4 weighed just under 10 pounds. Not huge for the East and North Texas folks, but pretty sporty for me. I caught 2 on T-rigged Senko flipping behind deep water docks. I caught 1 on top water on shallow shoreline and the other keeper on shaky head jig rigged with 4 inch Fat Albert grub on same shoreline.
I am a refugee from our local bass forum which is pretty much defunct. I don't see much about Lake Travis on TFF, but encourage other members who fish this area to chime in.

I did not see any shad. My electronics are pretty basic--I get a general view of the bottom profile, but interference from my trolling motor obliterates any other detail. As far as visually spotting shad, there may have been some, but I wasn't consciously trying to spot them.

Good deal. I haven't been able to get out much for the fall bite. I went out about a month ago, excited to get the jerkbait bite going but it was a bit early, I guess. Caught fish at almost every spot (Sandy/Cypress Creek) but they were all wolf pack dinks busting bait balls in open water. Need to get my arse back out there.

Crowbar, I'm new to the Austin area (from Dallas) and have fished most of the lakes within an hour of here. Looking for other guys to go out and whack a few of them. I live in Jonestown and usually put in at Jonestown ramp. PM me if ya wanna go get em. I'm semi retired so I can go during the week. Sandy Creek is always a dinkfest for me. I have still yet to catch one over 5 pounds at Travis in about 15 trips. Catch tons of fish...just 12" - 15" most of the time.

Have been online very little in the last few weeks due to family issues. I will definitely keep you in mind if the opportunity to fish pops up ever again. Seriously beginning to wonder about that as I have not been out since the month before my post above!! I did air up the tires on the trailer last weekend though! LOL

Travis is a different lake now that the zebra muscle's had consumed the lake. Instead of fishing for dink's I spend most of my time fishing deeper with a c-rig. Although I have to retie everything every hour due to the zebra muscles. Regardless, fishing deep drop offs have produced for me. Yes I have to filter through the dinks, but eventually a decent size fish will take my baits. Late October the better fish were in 25 foot of water on drop offs. Keep in mind I'm going for 10-15 bites in 6 hours, But here's, just one of the ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/12/full-107282-33117-travis_11_10_2019.jpg) ones I have caught fishing this way.

Those are very impressive fish for Lake Travis--actually most other places too. What lure(s) do you generally tie on the C-rig? From the background in one of the photos, it appears that you are in the lower end of Travis. Is that where you usually fish?
I appreciate the post. So glad to see someone give a report on Lake Travis. Not many of those on TFF. Hopefully, a few more refugees from ABF will join in and we will have more Lake Travis/Austin area discussions.

I finally got out or 3-4 hours with the wife weekend before last. We started out in Devils and I nailed a decent one (2.25#) on my second cast with 110+2 along a bluff. That was it for the next hour. Moved over to Pool Canyon (Austin Yacht Club) and once we dialed in the depth (20-25'), we started doing pretty well. They didn't seem picky on presentation. Wife fished her standard tx rigged motor oil powerbait and I threw jigs, shakeys and deadsticked senkos in watermelon and pumpkin variations. Bite was very light and really had to pay attention to line movement. We each caught 4-5 with only one dink. The rest were in the 15-16" range. Was great to finally get back out the water. Hopefully those weren't my last fish for '19!
