 Is there more accurate water temp data

Than what is put out by the texas parks in the weekly fishing reports-many times the water temp on a lake
will be reported as the same for weeks. Just wondering if there is more accurate and timely data?

For Lake Conroe you can find water temps on the San Jacinto River Authority website. I'm sure it is not the norm for every lake's controlling authority to publish lake temps but it is a place to start.

Is it me or are some people here just waiting to be a smart zzz. If being rude makes you happy go for it. I don’t think they are being intentionally rude. Maybe they are....don’t know. I don’t think there is any online information on temps that are current or accurate though. Not like what you would find while fishing anyways. The temps are always changing slightly as well. Sun, clouds, wind, rain, etc. one day to the next. The closest way I’ve found is to simply ask what temps are being seen lately by guys that have been on the lake your wondering about. Most will chime in with something semi useful.

Actually I contacted the Brazos River Authority and they referred me to their website. I'll have to see if it has what I want.
And I probably reacted wrong about some posts.

Temps on any given lake will vary as much as 10 degrees from the far North end to the far South end depending upon time of year. I find my swimming pool temp is within 2 degrees year round to Fork on the South end.

Not that I have found online. I usually call friends or marina at lake I am going to. On Sunday Fork was 68.5 pretty much everywhere I went. Didn’t get on the water until 1:00 ish. After the rain and 30s forecast this week I expect temps to fall to low 60s. South end of Fork by the dam looked to be full turn over. This rain and cold weather should get the big fish on a bite.

usually 58-68 this time of year are you trying to breed salmon or something and need an exact water temp?

also am curious,unless you plan on going swimming,why would you need to know water temps? Its just another Man-Toy, kind of like a fish finder....
