Well 30,000 a year just in tournment fees plus another 5,000 in travel exspense (guesstimation) your in it for 35,000 min. You would need a very good full time job with very flexible hours sounds If I had to guess I would say you need to make 100,000 a year to afford this trail. If you say sponsors pay for it then how can you have a full time job with any sponsor commitment. It seems to me you will have a very hard time making that work in the real world at least the one I live in. Maybe some can but 125 people. Not saying it wont work I just dont think the working man will be the ones filling out the field. So if not the working man then who?

It’ll work just fine, nobody fishing for free like the other league. I can guess a few guys who might be fishing in it. It’ll only hurt the Costa & FLW. I like it!

A bunch of donor dummies, 5000 entry per event and 2 out of 3 go home with nothing. Same as I said on the other thread, you cant pencil this out to run your fishing as a business and meet irs standards so to me its NOT any where near fishing for a living, maybe thats why they said working mans?? Cus youll NEED a real good day job!! haha.

Interesting how it was kept under wraps until today. It appears to have taken a lot of people by surprise.

If it doesn't conflict with the big trails they will get the pros. And y'all think there isn't 125 guys willing to spend that kind of money to fish? Just look around the boat ramp any Saturday morning. Doesn't say what the qualifications will be to start the trail but I bet they could get 125

Interesting how it was kept under wraps until today. It appears to have taken a lot of people by surprise. The rumblings have been out there of a Platinum Trail 2.0.

Wasn't Platinum just a Texas deal though? I honestly can see this work if they get a good start early on. With them including the streaming I can see some anglers being able to sell it to prospective sponsors as well. It could get some traction among those wanti g to step away from BASS and FLWMLF.

Will be interesting to see the schedule, I think several elites will fish this circuit as well as the BASS. More chances for more people to try and make a living fishing.

It's not that uncommon for people to have an extra $100k or so, in disposable income, that like to fish competitively

Yes I was just using Platinum in terms of the initial concept idea. Look, it's super easy to get 125 anglers to give you a verbal or a "virtual maybe". It's a whole other animal to get 125 of them to give you $30K over a series of events. The second part of this and perhaps the most important is who's propping this up in the short term and what sponsors are out there with funds available after spending the lion share of their budgets on BASS and MLF? I may be wrong but I simply don't see the opening. MLF currently has the entire industry "on hold" and manipulating budgets to find incremental dollars for the FLW opportunity. Unless you see a big brand attach themselves to the title or presenting rights of this new trail, I don't see it getting the momentum it will need. But that's why we have a free market. Anyone can enter if they're ready to step up and play. Let's party.

For a lot of top fisherman, they are just unglorified poker players. Nothing wrong with that, but that's how the sport grows them. Bet on yourself or don't fish tournaments. More than enough guys to bet that kind of money to fish.
