I am not a mechanic at all so diagnosing boat problems is not my thing. So, talked to a few people and they have all came to the same conclusion. With that said I dropped ot off at the shop to be safe in case it is something worse.

On Saturday I went to caddo. Launched the boat got on plane and ran about 300 yards and boat lost power and stopped. It would idle with slight acceleration but when I tried to get on plane it bogged down. Trimmed up and the prop still spun with normal rpms. So my first thought was spun hub. That's the consensus with everyone in have talked to but the shop told me today no signs of spun hub. They are taking it to the lake to test it. Any thoughts on what else it could be?

Sounds like your engine isn’t getting enough fuel to keep it on plane. Check your fuel lines to make sure one of them isn’t clogged causing a shortage in fuel getting to your engine. Had a similar issue with a friends boat and it turned out to be a clogged fuel line causing the problem

If the prop spun it would have reved up (gained rpms). Any time you ask others to diagnose engine problems, start with all the exact information of the engine (year, make, model, hp, what kind of boat it is on). It's either fuel, electrical or blown. Need more info.

2004 Yamaha V Max 150 on a Skeeter TZX 190. It does rev up but just wont go.

It is the O2 sensor. They go bad on that engine.

That eliminates a lot of things since this is a carbureted two stroke. Removing the spark plugs and taking a look would have told you if it was a blown engine, hopefully not. If it hasn't been run much or has ethanol fuel in it there is a good chance it is fuel related.

Been run twice in the last two weeks, new gas 3 weeks ago and yamalube. It still ran smooth and revved up bust wasn't rough or anything. That's why i initially thought spun hub.
