Just what we have been waiting for. Cool mornings and hot fishing.
The big Crappie have shown up now (wonder where they have been) several two pounders and
lots of 1.5# slabs.
Last two weeks (5 trips) most 4-5 hour trips producing 40-50 keepers. Best trip over 100, worst was 25.
Fairly new brushpiles producing best. Small baits best, chart on the bait helps. But truthfully you can catch some on nearly anything in the right place. Yesterday I tried a weird trout bait that killed the big ones. Will let you know about it when I learn if it was a fluke.
80% of the fish we catch are released. Just enjoy catching and learning.

Bigger baits should be coming into affect soon and I can't wait...... They are for sure getting more aggressive now....

most are in water 15'-20' deep but most fish are suspended on top of the brush 10'-12' down. We are shooting docks in as little as 4ft. water right now and catching good uns. Like you said, fall fishing is a blast.

Took a chance today, very windy and cold early. After an hour We had 3 and I felt we would
be lucky to get 10 by noon. Around 10 the sun came out, wind switched and slowed down a
bit and we ended up with 54 at 2 PM. 25 were over 12".
Cold great day.
Don't wait for ideal conditions, go when you can. You never know.
