My buddy's and I have fished the area around the Anahuac boat ramp several times now but have been a little reluctant to wade fish. We fish out of a 24' Pure Bay so we an usually float up where we want to wade but not always. Anyone out in TFF land have any experience wade fishing around the NE corner of Galveston Bay? My biggest concern is 'gators. Any comments welcomed.

Launched in a kayak from Frozen Point at the Refuge many years ago. Worked the shoreline East to the mouth of Oyster Bayou. It was there I realized that not one, but three, LARGE, gator heads were watching me from three different angles about 20 yards out.
Seen that Geico insurance ad running lately ? - guy up in the creepy attic, looks around and sees all the broken mannequins - "Nope. No thank you" he says backing away down the stairs. That was me in the yak, paddling out of that triangle and back to open water. Gators are a real concern along the refuge. I would only wade in very obviously open shallow water, nowhere near a bayou. And oh btw - only ever been skunked out there anyway, every time i've tried it. (All that said, reason i found your old post is because i'm thinking of running out there again and searched the forum for any news of it.)
