Over the last several days I have been trying get my solar working. Found the problem was a mis wired switch.
Fully function now. Powers a Helix 7 and a 500 GPH fresh water bait tank.

Looking forward to trying it out.

Curious... Are you running power directly to the equipment or using it to charge a battery?

Good work BTW!

I have Two 12 volt 8 ah batteries. Need the batteries to operate in the early hours. Then as the sun rises the solar plays catchup. Should go home with full batteries as long as I don't stay too late. Actually most people could get by with a lesser system.

10/3/19 Had it out today. Started the day at 12.4 volts. Turned the fish finder on. Dipped to 12.2 volts at 10:00 when I fired up the aerator motor. Climbed back to 12.9 when I shut the aerator motor down at 1:00. Solar performance better than expected. Fishing not so much.

RBR, does that solar panel double as a sail? Hehehe...it's big enough!

That's a big ole panel. Where do you get that on a kayak? Sounds like the batteries alone would be enough to get you through the day.

You get out of it what you put into it!

The 2 batteries together get me through about 3 hours. 50 watt solar panel is from Renogy through Amazon along with the controller. And this is not really a kayak. I call it a boat. With all the features of a full up PA but not nearly so heavy.
