Yes, and take some shrimp, some nightcrawlers, and cut carp or drum too!!! (Catfish love cut gaspergou)

EDIT: Why don't you go to Lake Palestine, they have been hitting minnows as soon as they hit the water lately, even hitting crappie jigs! (Keep 50 fish per man, no size limit .... get the slimy suckers out of there)

I am headed to Palestine Wednesday with shrimp and cut gou to have a fish fry ... will let you know what happens if you like.

I fish with Stubbys year around. . I have tried them all and i choose Stubbys for one reason and that is it catches fish all year in any weather conditions. Some days catfish bite anything they always bite Stubbys cheese bait. I fish well over 100 days each year and i catfish almost exclusively. I fish to catch fish and dont want to miss an opportunity to catch them.

You can buy bait that is less expensive than Stubbys but you cannot buy bait that works better.

I will tell you fork is hard to beat the chum and stubbys. Find you a nice tree in 25 foot of water next to a creek channel . Then hide in the bottom of your boat and throwbout your chum. Lower that stubbys about a turn off the bottom and see how long it takes. I will tell you if it takes more than 5 minutes it might not be a good day. Most days i spend modt of my time rraleaseing fish to tg he lake or my cooler and opening another cold beverage. Cannot beat it. Mh vompany actually pays me to stay fishing and not to come work for them any longer. Yes it is called a pension bit i orefer it being called pay for fun.

I did get me some Stubby's. Haven't tried it yet. How many over 3 lb blues do you catch on Stubby's? I love catching catfish but if I'm going for eaters I go for blues or yellows.

You get out of it what you put into it!

I am trying to decide between Lavon and Fork. I know Lavon better and it is closer. But I would like to check out Fork . I have never been on fork so I don't know the lake. what is the best ramp to launch?
I am going to do some crappie jigging too.

We went to Palestine at noon yesterday, until dusk .... 140 MPH winds with 7' white caps ..... OK, may have exaggerated a little, but water was coming over the front of my 20' Skeeter even behind points.... no way to fish where I wanted! The water was muddy from all the wind and the lake is up a foot or so more that it was 2 weeks ago.
We only caught 40 - 50 fish which is considered getting skunked on Palestine, with most being small size and 99% of the fish came on a small piece of shrimp right on bottom, if bait was not laying on bottom you didn't get hit. No keeper fish came from water shallower that 22'
