Thinking about going to Lake Welsh this weekend and wondered if anyone has fished there lately. If so where did you find them and what where you throwing.

Occasionally but it will hold solid 2-4 on fish for sure.

October can be great on Welsh! Five years ago (hard to beleive it was that long ago) a fishing buddy and I caught 110 bass (most between 1 1/2 and 3 pounds) with a few dinks annd a few heavier fish on Halloween day. Caught then on about everything EXCEPT a spinner bait. I was keeping a log that year.
Whish I would be more diligent about keeking a log.

Was out there last Monday, the lake is low so be very careful. The stumps that are now showing in your "marked trails" will make you pucker. Going to be really tough when it rises a few feet and the stumps will be six inches under the water level.

I should add that marking new trails with all the stumps showing is a bad idea, I hit several big ones just idling.
By the way Allen Bass Fisher, your "widow maker" is standing tall and proud. I didn't see any red paint left on it, though.

Since it’s low, I will be out there this weekend marking stumps. If you guys see a red ranger with a guy hammering rebar rods into the top of stumps, stop by and say hello.
