We were Catfishing on the brazos this last weekend and caught a pretty nice size striper on the top part of a cut shad-
I’ve caught hybrids before on cut bait, but never a striper, does this happen much and I just haven’t known it?
The river wasn’t running very much so it wasn’t like I was throwing bait in the tail race, just about in 4 foot of water, slow moving-
Just curious, I don’t target them so this was a new thing to me-

Yes. Cut bait fishing for striper is a great way to catch big striper. I like to double anchor and fan cast. I cut the tail of a gizzard at an angle.

Cut bait is great below Denison dam with some light flow. Med-large minnows will also get bit
