Nissan is Tohatsu two stroke and Suzuki four strokes.

Tohatsu are very dependable, actually that is what Tohatsu translates to. They are the second largest manufacturer of outboards in the world and have been making them since 1956. They are built in Japan where the majority of outboard usage is in saltwater environment. Many manufacturers have rebranded tohatsu including, Mercury, Evinrude and Nissan. I have owned 3 in my life one a rebranded mercury and never had one single issue with them.

I put 9,000 hours on my 90 rigged on my scooter. It finally gave up after six million gallons of mud got pumped through it.
