We gave up on the White Bass and Hybrids about a month ago when it got so hot and the Catching turned into Fishing! On Richland Chambers when this happens, we go to our "Go To" fish and that's Catfish. Lots of Blues and Channels to be caught late Summer and early Fall up the Richland Arm and near the Creek Channel in depths of 15'-25' FOW. Danny Kings Blood Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook is all we use as it seems to outfish anything else we've ever tried. Now that we have a "Cool Down" the Bigger Fish will become the norm and we'll have to put a second Ice Chest on the boats for the Fall and Winter. Finished off the week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday by catching more Eaters in the same timber on the Richland Arm. A nice Dad, Son and Grandson trio fished with me on Thursday, a Gentleman from Toledo Bend decided to try RC on Friday and the Men's Group from the Methodist Church in Mansfield did their annual October Trip on Saturday. Only got three trips in this past week as the Friday/Saturday Rain and North Wind forced us to cancel the outings. The older I get the less inclined I am to fish in the wet, cold and rough seas that RC can be on a North/Northwest Wind day. Plus most of our Customers have Kiddos on board on a Weekend and we err on the side of being safe and having fun. Always another day to fish and when it comes to Catfish, they're almost always biting on Richland Chambers! We did have three good trips with lots of Eaters in the timber off the Creek Channel. As always, caught on DK's Blood Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble. Got openings this week and in November. Let's Go Catchin'!
