Now that the cool weather has finally arrived. Anyone chase crappie up in the creeks during the fall / winter? Now that I got my kayak, I plan on hitting the creeks I fish from the bank. Hitting up spots that I couldn't reach on foot.

Not yet, but I agree that it's about time to start hitting the creeks again. In my experience, the deeper creeks produce better in the fall.

You got a Kayak? Them crappie better watch out now LOL.

I can't wait for the creeks to heat up myself. Some rain wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah it's getting close. I think we're about 2 weeks behind with all the hot weather but water temps are falling. After this front comes through early next week water temps should fall to the lower 70's.

You get out of it what you put into it!

You can launch anywhere a boat does on Lewisville. Many of the ramps, not all but many, are in protected areas or very near them to get out of wind and avoid heavy boat traffic. Think Marinas and such. Fire up google maps and take a look. So many places to put in.

What side of the lake are you wanting to fish? That might help me narrow down some suggestions.

Id be driving from plano/Richardson area so the Southeastern side would be closest but I don't mind putting in extras miles. I guess I was looking for a good spot close to the Creeks.

Saw a bunch of dead shad and a struggling crappie last weekend up a creek
Iā€™m guessing they were active in the creeks two weeks ago during that cold snap and will make their usual Thanksgiving push up the creeks next week.

And now a sewage spill in Hickory Creek. Anyone get up in there lately?

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

There has been too much rain for me this year so far. Every week it rains just enough to muddy things back up. Not to mention it has warmed up substantially. Need Cold and no rain for them to heat up. A buddy and I had 20 keepers in a creek a few weeks back but it was pretty slow.
