I bought some chicken scratch yesterday . I filled a 5 gallon bucket 3/4 of the way and then added water.I am going to let it set 2 weeks. I may have to add more water later. right?

After 2 weeks I am going to try Ray Hubbard or Grapevine.. Do I just find a spot near timber and toss it around the boat?

Thx

With this cooler weather, two weeks may not be enough. If you can keep it warm, you’ll get the fermentation going.

I like your location choice. I would also want a creek channel next to that timber with some deep water close.

I used sour grain for years but found something better. Now I use horse and mule sweet feed. Use it right from the bag you don't have to sour it.

Hadn't thought about that. I bet they love it. I know deer do.

In the Winter place an electric floor heater about 18” from the bucket away from delicate noses. It won’t take two weeks to stink.

Add some beer as mentioned, or just add some yeast. Will get it going, but needs to be warm as mentioned.

Good luck all.
