Launched this morning at 7:30 AM out of Jordan Ramp. Went straight across the lake to see if I could find some new productive spots. Wind was blowing causing white caps and sending water into the boat. Fished for a bit, but no luck. I decided I'd head to the other side the lake. Well I look down at trim as I'm getting on plane and notice this little red light. Well said light is low fuel light. Yep, I didn't gas up up after last trip and damn near ran out making my way back to Jordan. Pull out, load, up, and head to get gas. I think, well I'm near the Buck Creek Ramp, I'll launch there. So now it's 9:30 AM and I'm launching a second time. There were about 8-10 boats there as well. I thought, well maybe they are on the chew up here with all the traffic. Yeah, that wasn't happening. I didn't see anyone that was around me fishing putting any fish in the boat either. I boated one buck bass and got several tiny bites.

Cliff Notes:

- Don't forget to fill up
- Should have went back to Jordan and fished where I originally planned

The 80 / 20 rule does not apply to Ray Roberts. Its more like 90% of hits will be in 10% of the water. It can be a tough lake... but it's worth the effort because there are some really quality fish in there!

Water temp is 72 today. Went out for three hours this afternoon. Only caught four bass, all small - but enjoyed being on the water again. Been a while for me.

Went out for the first time in about a year. Club tourney coming up. Mostly found where they weren’t but did manage to find a couple that will help come game day. It’s not a full on fall bite yet but a lot can change in 10 days.

If you can't find em wind em.

Yeah, the temps above are about right with what I was seeing. I know it's going to be slow, but I should have listened to my instincts and went to where I had originally planned to fish. It's all good, I'll be back out there this coming weekend to make up for it.

72 is a 10 degree drop over the last two weeks since I was out last. Temps dropping fast with the cool nights, water has been steaming in the morning on my way to work. Wonder if there is a little turn over going on?

See you on the lake and have a great day!

I fished there Saturday and had a pretty good day. They were hitting square bills against shallow rock ledges early in the morning (38 degrees and fog on water). In the afternoon they were hitting jigs with pumpkin trailers in 16' of water in the trees along the rocks. The lake was 75 degrees but turning over. My boat was covered in brown muck by end of day. Fish slow and stay in deeper water away from the muck. Tight lines.
