the tthree best I've found are Subway or Chick fil A for light sandwich type lunch and Cracker Barrel for dinner.....have eaten at these two all over the country and they consistently have high quality, clean restaurants and good quality employees.....
also have eaten at numerous Dennys simply because I was tired and there was one located near the motel where I was staying....there seemed to be a noticeable improvement to Dennys in northern part of the country in terms of food quality, cleanliness and employees/waitresses....

In college, we would roll into Shoneys at 4am on occasion
Sadly, the last time I checked, they don’t have one in Dallas anymore
Used to be one on 635 and Skillman area?

When traveling we use Yelp to find good spots that are NOT chains.

Fast food chains are likely to be the most consistent from state to state. Consistency keeps you from getting upset stomach as easy.
