For some reason I had bad luck on my home lake with old fishing line getting into my big and trolling motor. I have always check them at less twice a year for this problem but the last three trips out when I got home I found line sticker out of my motor. I was out for a short time yesterday and I though that my t m battery was going out on me. When I got home I did a voltage check and both look good so went to the t m and notice line sticker out. When I removed the prop there was a huge amount of braided line on the shaft and it had worked into the seal. I don't throw line into the lake, I wish others wouldn't it do also.

Yeah, throwing line in the water is not good for anyone or their equipment. I do my damnedest to roll it up and throw it in my trash pile. Wish others cared the same.

Many times it's from a break off. I'm sure some do throw it out too

I've had this happen multiple times when fishing vertically over brush piles. People cast and hang the brush, break their line, and the line just floats above the tree until someone runs over it. Definitely not ideal.

Thanks for pulling it out of the lake, maybe not the best way though. I always try to remove any line i find on the lake. I do my fair share of snagging others spent line.
